The project develops on the Risaralda River, near the municipalities of Belén de Umbría (Risaralda Department) and Anserma (Caldas Department), in central western Colombia.

— Project Description:

The Morro Azul hydroelectric power plant, with a capacity of about 20MW, will use the waters of the Río Risaralda River to generate energy thanks to the construction of a small dam, underground works and an at- grade powerhouse. The headrace tunnel will have a length of approx. 4.7km (diameter of 3.75m), with cover comprised between 70 and 400m. The project also includes an approx. 320m-long access tunnel, located in the middle of the headrace tunnel, from which the excavation will start in both directions.

Geological and hydrogeological studies and geotechnical detailed design (Phase III) of the headrace tunnel and the access tunnel.
