Owner/Client:

Empresa Eléctrica Quito S.A

Cost of works:

€ 13 million

Period of Activity:

2012 - 2015

The 10MW Victoria Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) is part of the Ecuadorian development program for the growth of the national electrical market. It is located in the Province of Napo (Cantón Quijos, Parroquia Cuyuja) and it consists of a set of hydraulic works for the collection of waters coming from the Río Victoria River and of an at-grade power house located on the Río Papallacta River.

— Project Description:

The project includes a 1540m-long headrace tunnel, with an internal diameter of 2.75m and a capacity of 2.75 m 3 /s, to transfer water from the intake on the Victoria river towards the sedimentation basin. From the sedimentation basin to the power house the water is diverted through an at-grade pressurized pipe. The power house (L32m x W16m x H12m) is realized in reinforced concrete. The project is expected to enter in operation within 2015.

— Description of Services:

Design, construction supervision and monitoring of complete set of hydraulic works from the collection point to the power house, including the headrace tunnel, the sedimentation basin, and the pressurized pipeline; Geological-geotechnical studies of slopes stability of the headrace tunnel; Geotechnical studies of the reservoir area, including the required consolidation works.
