Along the route of the TransCanada Prince Rupert Gas Transmission pipeline (PRGT) from Hudson Hope to Prince Rupert, British Columbia sought to study and design a 2000m-long tunnel. Two different tunnels options were considered. Each one along two alternative pipeline paths were initially proposed: - The Nasoga tunnel, along a northern“Gulf Alternative Route”; - The Kwinamass tunnel, along a southern “Coastal Land Route”.

— Project Description:

Tunnel is designed to contain a pipeline. The Kwinamass tunnel was excluded because it is within a protected conservancy area, the Nasoga tunnel best alignment has been chosen according to geological, logistic and environmental conditions. The tunnel to be excavated, overall, through the Ponder pluton diorites-granodiorites rocks is 2000m-long, with a diameter of 4m.
