Cost of works:

€ 14 million

Period of Activity:

The Choully tunnel is part of the wider project relating to the sewer system collecting both storm water and wastewater coming from the group of municipalities called the Pays de Gex (CCPG).

— Project Description:

The purpose of the sewer system is the reorganization of the network, which includes three different sections. The 2306m Choully tunnel is located in the second section, at the border between France and Switzerland. By building a tunnel under the Choully hill, this associated sewer network collects French used waters and then diverts them to the Nant d'Avril primary collector on the Swiss side. The sewage tunnel has an internal diameter of 2.5m and has been excavated by a closed-face TBM.
