Additional Info

  • Owner: Enerjubones
  • Period of activity: 2009 – 2010
  • Description of the works: Two consecutive hydroelectric plants on the Jubones river, and a storage basin with a volume of more than 6 million m3 formed by a concrete rolled gravity dam 78 m high on the confluence of the San Francisco River. The first plant (Minas-San Francisco) consists of an intake tunnel, a 13.780 m long low pressure diversion tunnel (4.5 m diameter), 70 m high stand pipe piezometer, penstock with diam 3.55 m, caverns for power plant and 1,640 m long discharge tunnel . Technical data of this first plant are: capacity of 65 m3/s, water fall of 500 meters, installed capacity of 275 MW and annual production of 1,300 GWh/year. Waters discharged by the first plant are subsequently collected to be used in the second plant (La Union) which consists of a 12,270 m long diversion tunnel (diam 4.8 m), 100 m high stand pipe piezometer, 800 m long penstock with a diameter of 4.8 m, power station and discharge tunnel. Technical data of this second plant are: capacity of 65 m3/s, 170 m water fall, installed capacity of 90 MW and annual production of 400 GWh / year.
