On the Como Lake side, Menaggio tunnel runs underneath the town of Menaggio (about 200m above sea level) for a total length of 1809.45m.

- Description of the works: The work is included in the Menaggio bypass project, consisting of the new SS 340 “Regina” alignment between Nobiallo and Pastura, which ease the intensity of traffic flow caused by the inefficiency of the roads that run across the town. Together with Menaggio tunnel, the construction of the junction works and access to the existing main roads consisting of jump connections (Southern entrance) and viaducts with corresponding acceleration and deceleration ramps (Northern entrance) have also been designed. Menaggio tunnel has a section with two lanes (90 m2 cross-section) with 10 3-lane sections at intervals (130m2 cross section) for emergency and de-acceleration.
