EGS is charged with identifying the geological and geotechnical framework for the design and construction of underground and surface infrastructures, using specialistic contributions based on the most modern technical and scientific approaches.

The activities include:

• engineering geology;
• geological, geomorphological and hydrogeological surveys;
• analysis and reporting of geological and geotechnical data;
• setting up of the geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological reference models;
• geology-driven design;
• structural geology;
• dedicated GIS systems for geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical aspects;
• statistical analysis of geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical data;
• geotechnical and geomechanical
