There, our staff is currently focused on three important hydro-power projects:
- • The Chontal hydro power plant. As for the latter, GEODATA had finalized the feasibility study and the preliminary design with the aid of GIS methods.
• The Minas Hydropower Project, by the Jubones river, 540 km from Quito in south-eastern Ecuador; here, GEODATA provided technical advice in the completion of the infrastructure feasibility study, and focused on the final project design.
• Project design and development of the hydropower plant Coca Codo Sinclair. This is one of the largest hydroelectric power stations in South America and will provide 62% of the energy needed in Ecuador, with its 1.500 MW power capacity. The Coca Codo Sinclair is part of a complex project whose design includes underground structures as well as several service structures such as access roads and building site infrastructures.
